You awaken. The healing machine has rudely ejected you into a cold clinical place with no one to greet you. Still groggy from 6 months of deep, healing sleep, you struggle to remember why you're here. Then you recall that TriOptimum's greedy exec, Diego, promised to reward you with a neural implant if you hacked into SHODAN, Citadel Station's controlling AI.
Arriving this Christmas for your Power Macintosh, System Shock, PC Gamer's 1994 Adventure Game of the Year, the game that weaves a first-person viewpoint, real physics, puzzles, and cyberspace to create the perfect "thinking man's" action game. With vivid high-resolution graphics and full speech, this hit game appeals to players who want to realistically manipulate characters in a fast-paced cyberpunk environment.

* See animated texture mapping in over ten breath-taking levels that explode with high resolution clarity.
* Marvel at the smooth, 3-D first-person viewpoint as you lean around corners, jump, float in zero gravity, look up or down, crawl through shafts and climb ledges.
* Experience the most sophisticated physics system in a computer game, complete with variable gravity recoil effects, explosions and moveable objects.
* View realistic lighting effects: pools of light, regions of shadow, flickering lights and flashes.

HINTS FOR PLAYING SYSTEM SHOCK
- Carefully listen to all message logs and E-mail messages. They will tell you what you need to do.
- Destroy all cameras and computer nodes to reduce SHODAN's security level.
- Save the game often until you are able to throw the cyborg conversion switch. After that you will be regenerated when you die.
COMMON PROBLEMS:
If you are playing the System Shock Demo on an 8 meg machine, you will need to turn off all extensions except for Apple CD-ROM, Quicktime, Quicktime Powerplug, and Sound Manager.
You must have the "QuickTime Musical Instruments" file installed in your Extensions folder to hear background music.
If you have only 8 MB of RAM, it may not be enough to play background music. System Shock will automatically turn off background music if there is not memory to play it.
If the game runs slowly, turn off background music and/or change to low resolution graphics. If your computer has enough memory, you can increase the "Preferred size" in the application's "Get Info" window. This will make System Shock play a little faster.
